About Me

Area I work in for the entire of my career in property is PASIR RIS,the place i call HOME. It is located in district 18 on the northern shore of Singapore and has a gross area of 15km².It has an estimated dwelling units of 30,000 with an estimated population of 150,000.

The first reference to a village of Pasir Ris, Passier Reis, appeared in 1852. There has been conjecture that perhaps this is a contraction of Pasir Hiris (pasir is "sand" and hiris means "to shred" in Malay). Pasir Ris is a district that greatly aids Singapore's family planning policies. A spacious housing estate, Pasir Ris is also a recreational area that provides fun family entertainment for everyone. With resorts, chalets and amusement parks, Pasir Ris has a homely atmosphere that reminds everyone of the joys of family life. Going to Pasir Ris surely encourages couples not to stop at two.

Pasir Ris Park

This park was developed as an attempt to draw crowds away from the overcrowded East Coast Park and encourage people to go even further east. The place was once a mangrove swamp that was deforested to make way for the beautiful grass lawns we see today. However, there is now a mangrove boardwalk in Pasir Ris Park, designed to retain the essence of the past.

Downtown East

Set up by Singapore's National Trade and Union Congress (NTUC), Downtown East is an entertainment facility cum amusement park. There are chalets within its compound, as well as Escape Theme Park, Wild Wild Wet Water Theme Park and many eateries. Downtown East also frequently invites guest stars such as Spongebob Squarepants and Barnie the purple dinosaur.

Aloha Loyang

This is a chalet resort that boasts a compound of huge bungalow chalets and a swimming pool. Located on Pasir Ris' beach front, Aloha Loyang is cosy, relaxing and away from the crowd.

Fisherman's Village

Also located on the beachfront, Fisherman's Village is a food centre cum playground that allows you to have your dinner underneath the stars and at the waterfront.

Pasir Ris Sea Sports Club

Owned by the People's Association, Pasir Ris Sea Sports Club allows you to sail, windsurf and kayak while gazing at Pulau Ubin from across the sea.

Pasir Ris Kid's Kampong

This compound reenacts kampong life in olden Singapore. Children can play with chickens, goats and cows while running around amidst the wooden huts that make up the kampong.

Shopping and Businesses

There are a number of shopping complexes in Pasir Ris, the biggest one being White Sands Mall, which literally translates into 'pasir ris'. Also, Courts and Ikea, two large furniture companies, have also opened in Pasir Ris. In Pasir Ris, you find many commercial farms, especially fish farms and kennels. These fish farms were relocated to Pasir Ris from Old Tampines Road, and specialize in aquarium and freshwater fish. Popular fish farms are Mainland Tropical Fish Farm and Kyoto Koi.
